From her mother who sewed and quilted to her aunt who crafted and her sister-in-law who worked as a wedding coordinator and crafted for extra income, Jenny grew up surrounded by the power of hands-on creation.

For Jenny, crafting was more than just a pastime—it was a release, a way to navigate life's challenges, and a source of joy. She found value in reusing materials, making art from what others might see as waste. This practice of reimagining materials became her emotional anchor and a way to make a living. Whether she was selling her creations in stores, malls, or venues, or hosting craft sessions with others, she always believed that it was "just for fun."

The turning point for Jenny came when she walked into a Creative ReUse store in Austin. This moment, like a storm, ignited something in her. It was as if everything she had been doing, all the reimagining of waste, all the crafting with a purpose, came into focus. This store was doing exactly what she had been doing throughout her life—turning waste into something valuable. Her heart swelled with passion, and she felt compelled to bring this vision into reality in her own community.

Thus, Artable Curiosities was born. It's not just a store, but a movement—a space that offers the community an affordable means to be creative while reusing materials. It provides people with the tools, resources, and environment to unlock their own creativity, often in the most unexpected ways.

But Jenny didn't want to do this alone. She wanted to build a community, a network of people who shared her vision and could help spread the message of the value of reimagining waste and using creativity as a means to connect. Today, Artable Curiosities is a thriving 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, continuing to change the landscape of reuse in Seguin, Texas.

Jenny's vision has blossomed into a movement that is helping people reclaim their creativity and redefine the value of what we often discard.
