• It all began with an idea

The story of Artable Curiosities and its founder, Jenny Beasley, is a beautiful narrative of creativity, community, and personal transformation. It all began with a young Jenny, inspired by the women in her life who used crafting to create, connect, and make a living. From her mother who sewed and quilted to her aunt who crafted and her sister-in-law who worked as a wedding coordinator and crafted for extra income, Jenny grew up surrounded by the power of hands-on creation.

For Jenny, crafting was more than just a pastime—it was a release, a way to navigate life's challenges, and a source of joy. She found value in reusing materials, making art from what others might see as waste. This practice of reimagining materials became her emotional anchor and a way to make a living. Whether she was selling her creations in stores, malls, or venues, or hosting craft sessions with others, she always believed that it was "just for fun."

However, deep down, Jenny began to realize that this was not just about fun—it was a calling. The message of community, creativity, and conservation had been weaving through her life. The more she created, the more she realized that the arts were not just a hobby but a powerful form of expression and connection. Creativity, she came to understand, is innate in all humans—it gives us a voice, a way to communicate with the world around us.

The turning point for Jenny came when she walked into a Creative ReUse store in Austin. This moment, like a storm, ignited something in her. It was as if everything she had been doing, all the reimagining of waste, all the crafting with a purpose, came into focus. This store was doing exactly what she had been doing throughout her life—turning waste into something valuable. Her heart swelled with passion, and she felt compelled to bring this vision into reality in her own community.

Thus, Artable Curiosities was born. It's not just a store, but a movement—a space that offers the community an affordable means to be creative while reusing materials. It provides people with the tools, resources, and environment to unlock their own creativity, often in the most unexpected ways.

But Jenny didn't want to do this alone. She wanted to build a community, a network of people who shared her vision and could help spread the message of the value of reimagining waste and using creativity as a means to connect. Today, Artable Curiosities is a thriving 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, continuing to change the landscape of reuse in Seguin, Texas.

Through the collective effort of passionate individuals, Artable Curiosities is giving voice to the silenced, empowering the community to create, conserve, and connect. Jenny's vision has blossomed into a movement that is helping people reclaim their creativity and redefine the value of what we often discard.

    Issues?

    We are tackling two issues

Waste output generated by industry and individuals and a lack of resources for our schools

    We have One Innovative Solution

    CREATIVE REUSE

    2

    Why you do it?

Often left over art supplies, common household and office supplies & materials are often overlooked, forgotten or put into landfills. Due to initial cost materials we have decided they are too valuable for the trash but we do not know how to let them go in a way that supports the value we put on them.

Art supplies often touch the emotions where other things may not.

Items that industry calls "cast off" or scraps" can often become an eye sore pile or we will deal with it by filling the landfill space.
